Canada is home to many beautifully designed and managed golf courses, however, golf in South Africa is overwhelmingly adventurous!
I have been lucky enough to travel to South Africa, where I had fantastic life experiences. Aside from the unbelievable safari's, the great white shark cage diving, fabulous wine tours and tastings, the golf courses were pristine. I played Oubaai, Ernie Els' Signature Golf Course, also known as the windiest golf course on earth.
I also was fortunate enough to play the Extreme 19th at Legends Golf and Safari Resort. "Accessible only by helicopter, with the tee set 400m up on the majestic Hanglip Mountain and played to a green the shape of Africa some 400m below, the Extreme 19th has captured the imagination like no other hole." I am proud to say I am currently ranked at 481 with a score of 5 on this par 3. Click here to view the leaderboard.
The Links Style golf courses in Ireland, along with the caddies, create different challenges, but yet, opportunities.
The golf courses in Ireland are unlike any golf course we have here in Ontario. The fescue, long grass, hilly terrain and continuous blind shots will challenge every golfer. However, the knowledge of the caddies allows any golfer to sink puts, keep their ball in play and feel great about their game! My first time playing with a caddy was in Ireland, at Doonbeg Golf Resort. Still to this day, this round at Doonbeg is one of my most enjoyable rounds yet!
